@sanityinc The way you put it is very agreeable to me indeed! 🤗 A family friend does exactly that: renovate by bringing out the original materials and blending them with modern techniques in a respectful way that makes the results beautiful – I love that!
@sanityinc Ha, it‘s funny that right after our exchange here I visit the Frankfurt Old Town that does exactly what we discussed: mix old and new with GOOD architecture and the result is quite beautiful 😄
Attached: 4 images The Neue Altstadt in Frankfurt is really interesting architecturally: it was bombed down in WWII, then a brutalist city hall took it‘s place until they decided to rebuild it from 2012–2018.
