netzpolitik.org expands on the lobbying relevations: https://netzpolitik.org/2023/interne-dokumente-europol-will-chatkontrolle-daten-unbegrenzt-sammeln/ (German, documents in English)

They managed to obtain the (redacted) mission report of Head of Johansson's Directorate-General, Monique Pariat visit to Europol on 2022-07-19: https://cdn.netzpolitik.org/wp-upload/2023/09/2022-07-19_DG-Home_Europol_Visit_EU-Centre_CSA.pdf

During the meeting, Europol asked for broad access to data (see picture)!

However, that is not the only thing revealed...

Interne Dokumente: Europol will Chatkontrolle-Daten unbegrenzt sammeln – netzpolitik.org

Multiple employees have switched from Europol to Thorn, raising serious questions about conflicts of interest:
- Cathal Delaney worked for Europol for 8 years directing a department developing a programs to automatically CSAM, then he joined Thorn
- Delaney is registered as Lobbyist at the German Bundestag
- Fernando Ruiz Pérez worked at Europol for 9 years, directing the European Cybercrime Center. He joined the Board of Directors after leaving Europol

But it isn't just Europol:
- Also on the Board of Directors is Nellie Kroes, former (2010-2014) EU Commissioner for the Digital Agenda
- Also on the Board of Directors is Ernie McAllen, 23 years long Director of the NCMEC, but also Chairman at WeProtect Global Alliance, which also closely worked with Europol

So it seems not only is Thorn connected to a lot of public activism/lobbyism (https://chaos.social/@maxim/111125548136425034 ), they've also been very active behind the scenes.

Europol Sought Unlimited Data Access in Online Child Sexual Abuse Regulation

According to minutes released under FOI, the European police agency pushed for unfiltered access to data that would be obtained under a proposed new scanning system for detecting child sexual abuse images on messaging apps, with a view, experts say, to training AI algorithms.
