There's a very old reactionary tradition of labeling someone "insane" so as to take away their personal and bodily autonomy.

It's been done to women and sexual minorities for a long time, used to justify incarceration, "corrective rape," lobotomization, forced sterilization, "conversion therapy," torture, and a whole bunch of other atrocities.

The fascists are still at it today.

This is among the very large pile of history Americans don't get taught because it would make social and political conservatives look bad and undermine most of their fascist rhetoric.

I don't entirely blame cis people for being ignorant of trans issues when our entire conservative-owned media complex is lying to them about it and denying trans people and medical experts the platform to tell the truth.

Calling trans people delusional and blaming us on antisemitic conspiracy theories is par for the course with fascists.

But a lot of cis people want to believe this shit so they can preserve their own narrow-minded sense of "normal" that makes them feel superior to us.

It bothers me that people can rarely be bothered to see past their short-term self-aggrandizement and social standing, however, because it's all or nothing for the fascists and they've been going down their checklist of women, gay people, trans people, immigrants, Black people, and everyone else they despise, which includes every liberal and leftist in this country.

If nothing else, the more you agree with them, the more power they will have when it comes your turn.

If you throw trans people on the fire because you think we're weird, fake, delusional, or whatever, don't be surprised when nobody steps up to save you either.
@gwynnion Well, if it would play out like they want, there will be no one left who could do it.

A Native American person was shot today at a statue protest. They have their guns out and are using them.
