Trump knows exactly what he’s doing when he eggs on his rabid base that this “political hack judge” in New York is “unhinged” and “must be stopped.” He hides behind the First Amendment, but he’s a mob boss, and he knows from experience that there are dangerous elements in his MAGA base. People will take things into their own hands when he demands, “WE NEED JUSTICE IN OUR COUNTRY!” Trump must be kept from issuing threats to witnesses and court officials ahead of his trials.

It is not a violation of the 1st Amendment to prevent someone from inciting insurrection & violence or intimidating witnesses & court officials. But then I think about how many lives would have been saved if COVID killed the MFer, and how Jan 6th never would have happened, etc. And the anger overshadows the guilt. The guilt is still there, but small in comparison.

Trump doesn't have the benefit of the doubt when it comes to inciting violence with his comments. People have already gone to jail over his comments about Jan6. If he thinks the First Amendment will protect him, he should look at the exemptions and realize he meets every one of the guidelines for abrogating his First Amendment protections. Every time he opens his mouth, he commits another crime to be added to the list of charges. At this point he's going to die going from courtroom to courtroom before he has a chance of being found guilty or innocent. He may not die in jail, but he'll die penniless.

@georgetakei I'm stunned by the evident cowardice of DOJ in not jailing him already. He's a fraud. A conman. A dangerous puppet of the Russian government. The criminal justice system sics brutal cops on us who'd drag an innocent Black man from his car & beat him to death, keeping cop-loving paramedics from him while he sat dying in front of them all, yet cannot find a way to jail pretrial the greatest threat to our country in my lifetime, the Soviet Union included. Ashamed. Disgusted. Angry.
