1/2 Apparently black Britons are not patriotic.

I'm not sure that your cultural heritage has much to do with your patriotism.

I am a white middle aged man who has undoubtedly benefited from privilege, yet still I am deeply ashamed to be British.

I blame much of this on the current government but it is not just their fault. They have simply uncovered a national self loathing brought on by otherism. The notion that there are groups in society responsible for all of the country's problems.

2/2 people with dark skin and funny accents are accused, wrongly, of stealing their wealth and opportunity. Otherism is about pitching groups against each other while the government makes policy and runs the country for their benefit and I blame those seduced by this rhetoric as much as the government itself.
So Tory voters.. I blame you too for why I am deeply ashamed to be British.
