Lately I've been "attention harvesting" where I've been signing out of social Slacks, and unsubscribing from pretty much every automated email that and SMS that I receive and even further restricting app notifications.
Curiously, it's been unsettling! I have this increased mental carrying capacity but I don't have the automatic habits to yet built to fill the void. But I can, with some awareness and intention, direct myself to actual books! from the library! or otherwise being productive vs. just playing whack-a-mole silencing alerts, notifications, and unread indicators.
Seems like a good idea!
