@dm @marcan the M1 Max has a combined memory bus width of 512 bit while a single LPCAMM has a bus width of 128 bit. The LPDDR5X on the module is faster than the LPDDR5 used on M1/M2 Max (7500 vs. 6400 MT/s) but nothing prevents Apple from using soldered LPDDR5X which probably is faster as well. See Anandtech’s table.
I wouldn’t worry about memory as long as the easier target (SSD NAND chips) is still soldered on the logic board.
