@interfluidity @Alon @michelle yeah, honestly, nothing is the answer. Schumer is the representative of the interests of the Democrats in the Senate, so on ethical issues he’s most comparable to a police union rep or something — his job is to defend the indefensible because his members want it defended. Basically no non-Senator is on his side and that’s maybe how it has to be?
