@stux I’m fascinated by emergent phenomena in multi-agent systems (#AI, Human, combo). This looks like a great example.
- Is this a type of flocking behavior?
- Did some other #autonomous vehicle/company deceive these autos to come to this place?
- Is the result of a routing #algorithm succumbing to natural traffic bottlenecks?

On the practical side, how does anyone undo this situation?

I am seriously impressed by those peoples' self control. It wouldn't take more than a dozen people to flip one of those menaces on to its back and out of the road

Have you ever experienced Austin traffic? It's right up there with Chicago. The volume and shit design of the roads, there are pretty consistent traffic jams.
The robo cars are still generally better drivers than the Austinites.
