@Papa Try Gentoo. It's a nice system and I had generally positive experience with their forums over the years (well over a decade by now, sheesh…).

But if you're getting tired of tinkering maybe try macOS. It's a BSD offshoot and a certified Unix to boot. #ControversialStatement
