i will take someone who fucks up regularly but actively tries to make it better and works on it over someone who only makes a mistake once but will fight tooth and claw to deny both it and any responsibility.
any. fucking. time.
i will take someone who (to a degree) fucks up consent but acknowledges this, talks and is visibly more careful over someone who is all aware of everything, knows all there is to know but then eventually fucks up once and will go full on aggressive mode when called out on it. every. fucking. time.
if you do not understand you will once you have experienced both the healing effect of true acknowledgement of pain by the one who hurt you as well as the full violence of a culture blaming you for daring to call out a mistake.
and i will hold open the way to if not full forgiveness and re-entry into my life then at least repentance and recognition of acknowledgement of pain as well as honest effort to repair damage for whoever honestly comes before me in a sincere wish to repair. as i hope that this way will be open to me for when i find the strength to admit and repair.

may you have a good sealing in the book of life.
sadly i live in a world that understands or gives none of the things i described.
@witchling the vast, vast majority of errors are caught early enough to be fixed

even most of the ones that appear to be exceptions turn out to be someone silencing early criticism in the course of doubling down on the error
@apophis uhm what exactly do you mean?
@witchling seeing the rest of the thread i'm probably thinking of a different, more initially unintentional kind of wrongdoing than the one this thread is about...
