Upgraded my phone today after three years (the old one is being cascaded down to the 12yo, as is the way of things here) and it would be nice if the Apple Store had a discreet side entrance available for people who didn’t want to be seen picking up a new phone on launch day. Maybe brown paper bags too?

(I had planned to just have the thing delivered but that would have taken about a fortnight longer, at least that’s my excuse)

@m Which model did you go for? I smashed AND drowned my X, so I had a look in store yesterday, but there is corrently no stock anywhere locally.
@z Pro Max. Don't forget that it's probably a good time to be looking at the secondhand/refurb market for the 14 Pro, which seems to be as if it'd be a better deal than the non-Pro 15.
@z Fortunately I'm not the kind of idiot who'll replace a phone as soon as the new model comes out but plenty of idiots are ;)
@m I'm after the Pro Max, too. I tend to use my phones until the end of their lives (one way or another), so getting top(ish) specs makes sense.
@z @m also eyesight doesn’t tend to improve that much. - senile Armverkürzung is a thing
@Tho99 @m Very true, although my varifocals are now permanently attached to my face, so screen size isn’t that crucial anymore. I’d probably need a proper phablet if I wanted to live unspectacularly.
