I haven't got a study to back this up, but it does feel like 80-90% of the work in sorting out rooms is going through hundreds of tiny little things, which isn't just time consuming but also cumulatively stressful due to so many individual microdecisions. It gets worse as you get older, so many important items from the past accumulate. Well done for ploughing through!
@[email protected] Thank you! It's amazing watching this back and seeing how well the setup has held together now, basically a year later. Guess it means I made some good decisions! You're right though the sorting process was definitely A Whole Thing, especially since I wasn't well and kept just sitting in the middle of the pile feeling sorry for myself.
Think the most important thing I've learned from this is to put stuff where it makes sense to you, not where it makes sense to other people. I always know where things are now because those impenetrable-to-outsiders groupings of junk work well for my brain so I don't forget 😅
