The frame of ‘vaccine fatigue’ and ‘mask fatigue’ is trying to make us think we’re tired of prevention rather than the vicious way capital tried to exploit us during the pandemic.

It’s like telling us we have ‘protecting your face fatigue’ when they’re punching us.

Like apparently it isn’t capital lead policy that’s killing disabled people it’s their own fault.
@helpmeskeletor seriously. The only fatigue I have from this pandemic is dumbass fatigue from hearing so many ridiculous excuses that people come up with for not masking properly.
@helpmeskeletor
The problem is that, as a culture, we were already deciding that our own irritation superceded what the CDC was saying. "It's getting downright inconvenient that this pandemic is continuing, so I have decided that it's over."
@Ttubretep @helpmeskeletor That's one side of the coin. On the flip, you have the CDC operating as a political body with no institutional fortitude to hold the line against the whims of vocal minority voting blocs and the pressures of capital as funneled through the Admin. And these are mutually reinforcing. That's how we get to "you do you" as actual public health messaging.
