All the cool kids are checking their email with @thunderbird. Spread the word.
@vwbusguy @thunderbird sounds good, I'll have to check it out xD
@vwbusguy @thunderbird Thunderbird is great, but define "cool" in this context. I have a feeling your definition might be circular. Something like "Those who use Thunderbird are cool because Thunderbird." But thanks for a great tool.
@vwbusguy @thunderbird I use it as my feed reader too fight me libs
@vwbusguy @thunderbird the cool kids are emphatically *not* using email though
@vwbusguy @thunderbird one might even say that the 'bird *is* the word https://youtu.be/5WFBppsP9C8?si=I-zv9X3jVkYrPVM4

K-9 Mail
@vwbusguy @thunderbird Is that suddenly no longer in vogue? https://www.pmail.com
Pegasus Mail and Mercury

@vwbusguy I’m checking my mail with hand written IMAP in telnet.
@anders By "hand-written", are you using a morse-code like pulse and perfectly timing the protocol to the baud rate or are you using a microscopic magnetic needle to flip the bits in the RAM address for the telnet input buffer?
@vwbusguy I’m obviously using a nano-focused x-ray beam on the memory circuits.
@vwbusguy @thunderbird and the super kids use #mutt !
@hyde @vwbusguy @thunderbird What do you like most about #Mutt? I am on the fence about switching.
@profoundlynerdy @vwbusguy @thunderbird terminal based app, keybindings and it's quick !
@hyde @vwbusguy @thunderbird What about pine / alpine?
@profoundlynerdy @hyde @thunderbird Y'all are about to inspire me to try to recreate the thunderbird GUI in ncurses.
@vwbusguy @profoundlynerdy @thunderbird yes ! We wait for it !
@hyde @profoundlynerdy @thunderbird The question is, is it possible to hook into thunderbird's backend libraries separate from its frontend? Like, could I go so far as to share the same data profile as the GUI and just reimplement the front-end with ncurses to the same backend libraries?
@vwbusguy @thunderbird Really cool kids use NeoMutt.
