You know what’s funny? I just had a moment thinking “wouldn’t the president always stand with the workers’ union?”

I love the gamma ray or neutrino that blasted through my brain to give me that moment of thinking that/forgetting the 55 years of neoliberal domination.

It was barely a second’s escape, but so worth it.

Some people (mostly media talking heads and Republicans) will call this a political stunt, an early campaign tactic, or otherwise color this as a craven, self-serving move.

Call me a naive idealist — but I believe absolutely in Pres. Biden’s motives to
SERVE Americans, particularly “average working Americans,” and I applaud his good heart, his deep respect for workers, and his dreams of actually making things, as he phrases it, “just a little bit better.”

@GottaLaff yeah. I'm glad the president is so publicly pro union but if I were management I'd be complaining to my spouse that this was unfair. They don't have kids chained to vats of carcinogens in there and neither side has threatened violence.

@GottaLaff But, Biden didn’t stand with the rail road workers who were going to strike. The Whitehouse got involved so that the railroads could keep hauling products. Why isn’t Biden trying to get the union and the automakers to work out a better deal so that cars and car parts will still be made?
