IMO not the case, but lots of people around me site Salinger and explicitly Catcher in the Rye as only meaningful in your teens.

knabepicer@evilgardengnome @ZachWeinersmith My experience with Catcher in the Rye has been that teenagers find Holden just annoying, whereas adults can pick up on the constant screams for help under all his bluster and and anger.
