If you understand exponential math, such as that used to track Covid, you know Twitter is in deep trouble and Mastodon is thriving.

New Mastodon accounts - and clearly there are bot accounts pushing Twitter type right wing bullshit, but they don’t account for the majority of new accounts - have gone up substantially percentage wise even just recently.

Twitter is in early stages of dying during this same period, deservedly so. The writing has been on the wall for some time.
