Major development on the New York City front of The War on Cars:
"Our new rules will eliminate parking mandates for new housing across New York City and dramatically expand the options for adding more homes. Right now, every two parking spots that are added to new buildings take up space for one studio apartment making housing more expensive for everyone. If you want to build parking you still can. But we will not force people to build parking they do not want.”

@TheWarOnCars I'm skeptical. I'm all for boosting public transit and getting private cars out of big cities, but this feels a lot like yet another favor for the real estate developers whose water he carried with the return-to-office rhetoric.

People who wouldn't even think of living in a studio apartment.
