That's the way to do it, old friend!
@georgetakei - Good on him!
I've worried about him in the past because his format at a glance can often resemble that of right-wing polemics.
But I really love it when someone comes out and sends a clear signal. We need more of this.
We on the left need to stop apologizing for our values and start taking control of our own narrative.
The opposite of βwokeβ is βasleepβ.
What happens when youβre asleep? You lose touch with reality.
@georgetakei The weaponisation of the word 'woke' is exactly how Brexit was won, and how Trump got in.
People have got to get smarter with language, to combat the far-right wave that's overtaking the West.

I agree. Language is the battlefield.
For all it's problems, language models revealed to me a lot about language, made obvious things that were deeper in the fog.
I always was so logic based it didn't make sense to me how people could focus on the connotations of words so much, but now I see that it's a weapon for many. I still don't know how to wield it properly. I don't know how to play that game.
Doing my best to figure it out though.

It goes beyond language, symbology in general. The imagery used along side the message is language as well in its own way.
Is the person sending the message attractive? Do they 'look' successful. Do they 'look' healthy. Do they have the symbology of authority. So much...
