July 2023 was the warmest month globally on record.

Burning fossil fuels is heating the planet & causing:
- more intense heatwaves
- heavier rainfall events
- glaciers to melt
- sea levels to rise & higher storm surges
- more intense tropical cyclones
- substantial damage to ecosystems

@ed_hawkins I often feel as though the averages (+1.5C for example) hide the story a bit. I'd be curious to see a graph of maximums, or something that factored in the increase in variability, to give people a sense that we're heading for uninhabitable 60C+ heatwaves.
