@CTHW Though a parent myself, I actually had no idea if some concept of #ParentsRights existed in Canadian Law. Only thing that came close was the right of parents to visit their biological kids in the event of divorce.

Mainly, the #RightsOfTheChild were the main results of my search. Parents have a responsibility to care for their kids, but they are people like us and have #HumanRights.

#KidsAreNotProperty - sad and disappointing that it has to be said in Canada.

@nickspacek @CTHW The 17 year old grand seldom listens to any news but today asked me "what the hell are these parent's rights those people are screaming about cuz Canada doesn't have that".

@nickspacek @Daveography @CTHW It's actually not the parent's right in divorce either - it's the right of the child to have as much access to both parents as is in their best interests.
