Awesome, so my SO's kid started college and the room they were moved into didn't have water, supposedly they were going to fix it today, but not only has it not been fixed but also it was done while they were in class, their personal stuff was messed with, including their computer apparently, unsure if they actually were able to access anything. Having them run Windows Defender and check installed apps for anything new they don't recognize.

If anyone has any suggestions on other stuff to check I'd love to hear them.

Update on this since they still had no clue what was going on and still didn't have safe water in their unit due to corrosion.

Maintenance had been flipping breakers on and off during diagnosing of the issues in the unit. When everything was done it's likely the maintenance guys either hit the power button as a quick test to make sure power was back on in the room, or they couldn't remember if it was on or off when they arrived and turned it back on. Everything I checked appeared as if nothing else had been done.

And living space wise in the meantime they've been setup with access to another unit for shower and water and can stay there as well if they want but maintaining access to their original unit as well so they don't have to move everything over then back.
