Hon, this insufferable shit is exactly why people don't WANT to make the move to Mastodon
Mastodon users need to understand that there was a CLEAR window where Mastodon *could* have offered a viable new home to a pretty vast network of folks.
And instead existing community response was to whine about how quote tweet-style functionality was a bridge too far, and how Black people needed to hide their trauma behind content warnings.
Jason@gwensnyder I'm feeling like Mastadon is suffering a bit from the Google Circles issues - sure, it's there, and anyone can use it, but it seems a little too open / weird.
It'll continue on (unlike circles) but it'll never be the "it" thing.
And ... I think a lot of the main users are 100% ok with that.
