I would submit, sir, that you & your family are addicted to money.

I read this book 2 years ago & it’s incredible. If you decide to read it, take your time with it. There’s a lot of detail & it’s easy to get lost a bit (at first) within the Sackler family members. More recently, as in this week, I finished watching Hulu’s Dopesick. 5 stars for Micheal Keaton. Just started Netflix’s Painkiller. It’s interesting to see how these shows differ in their approach. If you have an interest in this subject matter, I cannot recommend more highly, this book & these shows.

@likewise @bookstodon that book is so good, but it made me angry. That family caused so much harm to our entire society by turning medicine into a marketing commodity, then almost seeming to want everyone to get hooked on their drugs. Maybe ten years ago I visited the Sackler Gallery at the Smithsonian in Washington DC and the art was gorgeous. While I was reading this book I realized that gallery was made possible by that family gaming the pharmaceutical industry. Yuck.
@Jennifer I agree wholeheartedly with your words.
