After a year of wearing the Apple Watch Ultra, I don't think it's for the hardcore athletes, and anecdotally, the weekend warriors I know don't seem to want it. Plus, only some of the tech dads I know are entirely on board picking the Ultra over a regular Series watch for longer battery life.

I really like my Ultra, but when I went to think about what I want from an Ultra 2... I found myself asking who is this watch *really* for?

Who is the Apple Watch Ultra really for?

The Apple Watch Ultra was introduced as a smartwatch for adventurers. After a year with the device, I don’t think that’s the whole story — but I also don’t know who the Ultra’s real target audience is.

@vicmsong I liked the look and the battery life. I do exercise but definitely not a hardcore athlete (not even close).
@vicmsong I can’t justify the cost but I would absolutely buy one if I had the money for the battery life and screen size because of my low vision self. But I’m not anywhere close to an extreme athlete and def not target demo for it
@vicmsong Is it that rare that a person might want to wear a mechanical watch and not care about the screen or smart functions, but still want a fitness tracker to compliment a sport-only gps watch? Apparently.
