Ordered my first UniFi cameras for my own setup. Will be fun to see if I can get them into HomeCam with or without Scrypted or such.
@aaron_pearce mine are in there, just used hoobs
@yakmoose probably the easiest solution.
@aaron_pearce think it pulls from the udm. But I can’t remember but then it just works
@aaron_pearce big plus one on Scrypted for them. We’ve got 3 plus the UniFi doorbell and they work better than many of our homekit-native cameras (looking at you eufy) Plus with HomeCam on the AppleTV, I get that “big screen of security cameras in a spy movie” feeling
@robroark Yeah, I need local recording for my purpose which not many HomeKit cameras offer.
@aaron_pearce the eufys do micro-sd recording which is a nice safety net, but I do appreciate that I can toss a massive drive in my UDM SE and record all the things.
@robroark yeah, they are nice cameras for their price. I just like the idea of it not being attached to the camera itself.
@aaron_pearce I’ve had mine running through Homebridge pretty successfully. Getting the doorbell support is nice.
@JustMeDevin I'll be giving each way a try to see what works best. Helps me suggest things to my customers too.
@aaron_pearce I am HomeBridge UniFi Protect. Highly recommend.
@aaron_pearce You'll need Scrypted, but it does work well.
And I am a user of Homecam with HomeKit+Scrypted+Unifi Protect, love the app!
