A groundbreaker, a force of nature, a pioneer, a friend. We could make each other laugh and cry and laugh until we cried. Once we randomly met Little Richard in a hotel lobby. She shaped more of today’s web than you can imagine, unless you were there. There were none like her, and never will be again. Godspeed, Mols.

@Meyerweb Awww dang. Molly was so important and so many people will never know what she did for them.

This one hits hard, and the internet's a little darker without her

@Meyerweb I met her once and I remember her as one of the faces on the Twitter website in the earliest days.
@Meyerweb Her enthusiasm for the web was infectious and has helped me shape my own career. Even now, 20 years after CSS Zen Garden. Her passing still seems too soon. Rest in Peace dear Mols.
@Meyerweb 💔 sad to see this. Rest in peace Molly
@Meyerweb oh, so sad! Godspeed, Molly!
@Meyerweb I used to spend time with her at conferences years ago and enjoyed the hell out of those visits. So sad to hear this.
@Meyerweb
Oh no. One of my early web life influencers. What a lady.

@Meyerweb It was thanks to @ParisWeb that I was able to meet Molly Holzschlag, a lively woman full of enthusiasm for the open Web.

When you're on the ParisWeb staff, you get to spend more time with the speakers, and what an evening it was!

She leaves behind some wonderful memories, and a huge void.

@Meyerweb she will be missed and what she brought will survive her for a long time still. RIP

@Meyerweb

Oh Eric! This breaks my heart. I. had not chatted with her on Facebook in a week or more. (I've just tonight realized algos have changed.)

Godspeed, Mols ... no more pain.

@Meyerweb I’m so sorry. She was amazing.
@Meyerweb I have a hard time staying true to my atheism since the passing of a close friend last year. This friend told me in one of our last late night conversations online that she would be waiting for everyone with tea and biscuits. So here's to Molly, who I hope was welcomed wherever it might be, by Aaron and countless others. Me, I will be having tea and biscuits right now.
@Meyerweb oh, and Eric, we first interacted, briefly, something like 15 years ago when I translated your HTML/CSS slides system to French. So, here's to open standards too.
@Meyerweb Hard to imagine this world without the fierce force that was Molly. Sigh.
@Meyerweb Never heard of her, unfortunately. For those who knew her, and know of her legacy... My condolences.
@Meyerweb OMG NO. am heartbroken. she's one of my sheroes. i wouldn't have been able to learn web development on my own had it not been her and then you and... my heart is so heavy. we lost a real one.
@blogdiva We really did. And it pisses me off how many harmful assholes are still befouling the earth and here she is gone.
