@Carl_Zimmer When I was a kid, we had no deer in Australia. Then we had deer farms for venison, then a few feral deer. Now they’re a hazard on the roads at night in the local hills, a threat to a waterways, & are competing with native animals for food. That’s on top of feral rabbits, foxes, pigs, goats, cats & dogs, none of which are native to this continent.
