@downriver I've driven through that area several times; it's pretty bleak and remote. I can't imagine a young woman alone out there just walking off into the desert. It doesn't fit that she would leave her rabbits in the car.
There was that missing time early in her trip, and the rabbit judge wasn't really expecting her.
I think she went to meet someone, and things went badly from there. Maybe someone she didn't really know that well.
@downriver She very well may be out there somewhere but I don't think she just wandered off. Having "mood swings" is one thing but her family thought she was mentally stable enough to take a trip to CA by herself.
No evidence of foul play doesn't mean it didn't happen. If she trusted someone, she'd get into his vehicle willingly.
@Onceoday maybe, but it seems there would be a text trail or some other evidence if that were the case. I believe that she was easily prone to disorientation, perhaps just walked off to pee or something, & that was it. It's so easy to get lost. I did once in the Kaibab NF at the North Rim, was camping & walked off a few yards one morning. it's easy to get lost if you aren't paying attention. Wandered around 6 or 7 hours before hearing chainsaws in the distance & came across a logging crew
@downriver Yikes.
Maybe. It's true they probably checked her texts and emails. But there's just so much other fishy stuff that happened.
@downriver
And I have found myself gone some way on the wrong trail even though I was sure I knew where I was.
