Suella Braverman says the police should be neutral between racism and anti-racism, and have been taken over by “trans ideology”.

Just an absolute fiesta of far right noises, from the dog whistle to the klaxon.

@AlasdairMackenzie it's part of the two sides to every argument mantra... Bollocks... Perhaps for pineapple on pizzas but not for racism and scientific fact etc

@PGBeattie @AlasdairMackenzie

Anti-racism IS the neutral position. The whole point of racism is that there are 'natural' inequalities between shades of human that imply different status or treatment. This is incompatible with the explicit duty of the police to be even-handed, and the explicit democratic principle of equality before the law.

@AlasdairMackenzie Back-to-basics crime would need to include #ToryCorruption & democide, Suella. https://www.sophie-e-hill.com/post/my-little-crony/

@AlasdairMackenzie Proof positive that the police are institutionally racist then! Braverman is their ultimate boss! What a bleeding horrible specimen!!!!!
@AlasdairMackenzie
Wow, the very reason the Met Chief Constable rejected the label 'institution racism' is that many people mistakenly think it means all the individuals within the org are racist. Now Braverman has repeated that very trope. These are supposedly intelligent folk and I cannot believe they don't understand the nuance, so they choose to repeat the same old nonsense cos it appeases the bigots.
@AlasdairMackenzie Nice to see “back to basics” back as Tory policy. IIRC that was the refrain just before they were wiped out for a decade in 1997

@AlasdairMackenzie

@PGBeattie

"Trans ideology" = "Human Rights for all"

Seems like a good thing for a police force to adopt, although rather unlikely.

@AlasdairMackenzie I'd like to request an import ban on the US dog whistle, the 'contested idea' of critical race theory when they mean 'acknowledging structural racism is awkward'
@AlasdairMackenzie
How hard can it be to understand that racism is wrong?
