🤔 At a Hurricane #Idalia press conference, Gov. Ron #DeSantis (R-#Florida) was asked today if he supports President Biden’s call for more money for FEMA’s disaster fund: “How Washington handles all this stuff, I don’t quite understand.”

(Reminder: DeSantis was a three-term congressman.)

And this reply is treated by his supporters as a point of pride instead of a dangerous indicator of incompetence. Especially in Florida, one of the states most dependent on FEMA (due to regular state-wide catastrophes called "hurricanes") and the federal gov't (due to expensive real estate being covered by rising sea levels.)
