@StefsPicks @Theosuwb @Antgirl sad to see so many disappearing. Probably having the same problem I have off and on over the years - getting booted off by really conservative instance admins, or servers going down without warning. 😐

I at least have learned to back up my follow list weekly so I don't lose track of who I followed if a server dies. You can upload the list to your new server in seconds and immediately be following almost everyone you were before (minus the massive inconvenience of servers that block each other).

@StefsPicks I can definitely cover why most servers would consider that risky. I did read her essay she'd linked right before she disappeared, and even that kind of written account of her own experience can draw the wrong type of attention.
