Well he’s saying the concept god is a metaphor. Not a literal “Him”. But yes, better to think of all religions as metaphor and not take it literally.
I was being cheeky. There is also a jump from the infinitely intriguing metaphor, to a religion with rituals and leaders. And there is a difference between a deist god and the one’s who have supposed interactions which literature can be written and sermons given about. I recognize that I skipped all of that to throw a little shade.
