So… what do you do if someone accuses your dog of nipping a kid, shouts a bunch, then leaves? I should have taken a picture of the indentation to prove it wasn’t my dog, but with all the shouting I didn’t think of it. The indentation was gone before they left, and my dog can’t actually bend down to reach the kid because of joint issues, but I’m still worried. (there were a lot of dogs there, so it could have been anyone.) #advice #dog #shiba
@lavender_in_sun indentation? That’s just a gentle dog reminder to a lower-ranking being that they need to back up and give space. My advice is protect your dog from stress, untrained children and ignorant parents.
@antiserenity Agreed, but it also wasn’t my dog! I’m more worried about whether or not the parent will chase me down!
@lavender_in_sun I really doubt it. If it was my child, I’d check with the owner for proof of rabies vaccine (if skin was broken). Other than that, it’s kind of pointless, unless this person just wants to yell.
@antiserenity Yeah… whatever dog did do it had a much smaller mouth than my dog’s and didn’t break the skin. It disappeared quickly. I guess she probably did just want to yell… at my wife… who is BIPOC. Sigh. Well, thanks for the reassurance.
