Anon lives on the margins. - Lemmy.world

Yes, America has failed. Move. Pack your bags and go. You’ve literally came to the conclusion your life will always suck, but you’re not willing to move anywhere?
God, imagine reading that anon only has $100 a month left after paying for necessities and still typing, “JuSt MoVe LoL”.
If they don’t change their circumstances, how do you expect them to improve their life? What do they have to lose by walking away from a crappy paying job during a time when there are jobs available nearly everywhere?
Food, shelter, support network…god you people are naive
Because they don’t have food and shelter in other cities? What good is their support network doing them right now as they struggle to scrape by? I think you might be the naive one. I’ve moved several times for better opportunities. Don’t let a bad situation make you feel stuck.

What good is their support network doing them right

Providing them food and shelter.

I’ve [x]

Yes, you have [x], and you were privileged enough to be able to [x]. Not everyone has the opportunity to [x], so just because you did doesn’t mean everyone can. In fact, the majority of people would probably find it very difficult to [x], because you have so many little things giving you a leg up that you take for granted and don’t even think about.

Just because you could [x] doesn’t mean [x] is a feasible solution for most people.

(for [x], insert “move”, “learn to code”, “get a loan”, “start a business”, “buy a house”, etc)

Providing them food and shelter.

Except it isn’t. Those are both clearly budgeted for and coming out of their own pocket.

Just because you could [x] doesn’t mean [x] is a feasible solution for most people.

It honestly doesn’t bother me if someone isn’t willing to make a change. Go ahead and keep that crappy job because of some mythical support network that is clearly not providing the help they need. Stay afraid to make a change.

Denial is a helluva drug.

You just HAVE to believe that you somehow deserve every good thing that’s happened to you, huh. Because you’re a Good Person. You Worked Hard. You Earned your place in society.

What a mental sickness.

Right, I’m just privileged because I believe change only comes from making a change.
Yes.
It must be awesome living life thinking that way. Just continuing to do the same thing over and over because good things only happened to the privileged so there is no point in trying to improve your own life. You’re free to live that way if you like, but I’ll continue to try improving myself and my position. Good luck with your belief that it’s not worth trying.
