@georgetakei Unfortunately, the meme is still that the economy is terrible and it's all Biden's fault. The media still plays that line.
Inflation is no longer at 9%, but people are still depressed as though it were.
@Crell @georgetakei Please I beg of you don't push a "the economy is Great Actually" narrative into the next election.
You can show all the charts and graphs and figures you want, but most of us are bleeding to death out here financially. Groceries are outrageous, this is miserable hell for all but the richest people and telling folks that everything is as it should be is a surefire way to lose.
There are lots of better reasons to vote for Biden, especially over Trump.
@rodhilton @georgetakei Here's the problem: Those prices are not going to come down. That's not how inflation works. They rose quickly, and if they come down, ever, it will be slow and gradual. But probably never.
(Yes, much of that is due to corporate greed and profiteering.)
It's a long-term wound that is not going away, no matter who is president. But getting inflation back down to 3% and 3% unemployment is a huge win. (Though, mostly the Fed's.)
@Crell @georgetakei That may be well and true, but I again implore you, do not try and sell people on Biden's "huge win" heading into the election. None of us want to hear that shit.
Try to just imagine someone who feels like their life is falling apart financially through no fault of their own. One guy is saying "I fixed the economy, it's doing great" and the other one is saying "The economy sucks, I'm going to fix it."
Second guy wins. Folks need to drop this, fast. Too much at stake.
