Hey EnergyHeads™️ - what’s a 100% Windsource customer to do here? Just roll over into Xcel’s Renewable*Connect Flex program or the Legacy option? (Coincidentally I’m getting solar installed today so hopefully I will pay little/nothing for grid power.)
@Dbrauer did you go with a local installer or one of the nationals?
@LibrationPointThree all energy solar
@Dbrauer I also went with all energy. both the state inspector and the electrician from Xcel said all energy does good work. Rarely any issues. Hope your install goes well.
@Dbrauer The RenewableConnect Legacy program sounds similar to a Community Solar Program where you're paying for shares of an actual solar farm somewhere on the Xcel grid (https://ilsr.org/minnesotas-community-solar-program/) while the Flex program seems more like a continuation of the existing program. The Legacy thing wants you to buy blocks of 100kWh, which might be more than you'll need cuz of your rooftop solar? It seems like they credit you for fuel surcharges, though, which might make it worthwhile...
Minnesota’s Community Solar Program

10 years after Minnesota enabled community solar, a 2023 policy has expanded the program. It also introduced new rules and limitations. This post explains the policy and compiles additional Minnesota community solar resources.

@Dbrauer have been on windsource for a long time, and realized recently that wind had gotten so cheap that I'm getting $20-25 credits on my bill each month for it. Ends up that I save about $3-5 a month. Guessing xcel doesn't like having to pay out these credits. This is the first I've seen about windsource being removed too.
