@selea @nextcloud I thought that was https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/stable/user_manual/en/files/access_webdav.html WebDAV in the end
But this has been a thing even before nextcloud,
@selea I miss the point then :D the Desktop Client has virtual FS, and WebDAV is supported. 
some softwares does not support loading or saving stuff from a "network location" and only to local drives or network drives

It does not work as a network drive, just as a "network location".

Troed SΓ₯ngberg@selea @nextcloud It shocked me when I dropped Seafile in favor of Nextcloud a few months back to see that this wasn't a standard feature.
Using Webdavfs at the moment to achieve something similar, but that's not for the regular user to set up.
Yeah it is certainly not great, but I actually found out that Windows 11 actually can mount it as a network drive! Finally, only took 10 years

Nextcloud π±βοΈπ»@BellyTree @selea We realize this isn't exactly ideal for everyone, but given Nextcloud provides a standardized WebDAV file access, you can use any WebDAV compatible file browser to accomplish exactly this feature π
