Half serious question; if you're directly wronged by the defendant and you're the opposing council, do you have to recuse yourself or what's the ethics guidance in that position?

@Shinyraptor In this case it has no bearing. The whole matter is about what happened in an underlying case - I hand up records and I’m done after saying “This is what happened there, so what happens here is a matter of law based on that.” There’s nothing like prosecutorial discretion in my job.

@BoozyBadger Ah, alright! I figured it would be very objectively driven but the closest I come to interfacing with legal is applications of non-binding federal guidance and regulatory stuff... So I'm generally clueless lol
