The hundreds of billions of welfare handed over to the likes of Walmart Inc, political cronies, undeserving PPP recipients, defense contractors, fossil fuel companies and and more actively makes my life worse. Money that could be spent on healthcare, ending hunger and homelessness, effective public transport, green energy - it's all getting sucked away from the government teat by the most undeserving recipients.
Helen Graham@amandacsb2 and in the UK the number of people unemployed and on welfare /benefits is very low and usually its for brief periods ,the number of long term ,able bodied people not working full time is probably around 100 thousand ,a tiny proportion of the UK population Benefit spending is tiny compared to the money the govt has "lost" or given to its buddies for none existent products.And the majority of it is a covert way of helping big bussiness by govt topping up wages that are too low

Morgan ⚧️@deepstatedude even if you've had problems involving trans people specifically! As someone who's been hurt by several trans people in many ways (just bc I mostly hang out with/trust trans ppl lol) it has literally never been because the person was trans

kb@deepstatedude I think showing kindness is far more important towards educating people about these than telling them to get a life, a lot of these people are legitimately just misinformed and caught up in their own cycles and biases, and do not mean poorly! That is not a reason to be complacent, however, but it is a reason to actually talk with these people and inform them!
