This is not new news.

Australians are less able to afford homes and are being forced onto the age pension more and more often. This trend is not even close to stopping.

If the Government doesn't take drastic action soon to save the concept of home ownership, it will fade from reality. The Government is actively saying to Australians one message:

We would rather give out your tax money to rich landlords, and let you suffer on the age pension when you stop working than trouble ourselves with tax reform, and fixing housing supply.

The Intergenerational Report released by Treasurer Jim Chalmers paints a picture of young people struggling to buy homes, slowing income growth and more strain on the federal budget.

This is the message of a weak and ruinous Labor party. For many, it is simply too late. They have the choice of working till they die, or living on a pittance as Super has failed them.

You cannot be complacent. Voting is not enough, especially if you live in a non marginal electorate. You have 3-4 years to let your representatives and government know via emails, letters, protests and petitions your displeasure and your concern. Please check the committee inquires for parliament to see if you can offer anything valuable to any of the committees.

On 22 June 2023 the Senate referred an inquiry into the worsening rental crisis in Australia to the Community Affairs References Committee for inquiry and report, with an interim report to be presented by 23 September 2023 to aid in the deliberations of the National Cabinet on re
