Goddamn. Did the injury ruin him, or did he just get genuinely outperformed by Sam Darnold?

Sam Darnold not long ago was considered a top NFL prospect. So was Trey Lance. Neithdr has done much to prove themselves yet. Other than a sunk cost phallacy there’s no reason to treat them differently. Lance didn’t really look good last year and looks worse coming back this year. He either needs development or is a bust. Neither of which should get him any special treatment.
