Adding "private jet pilot for out-of-favor members of Putin's inner circle" to my "jobs I do not want" list.
@mattblaze Along with “standing guard below windows of out-of-favor members”
@mattblaze I was just thinking... the 9 other people on board were essentially deemed 'expendable'. Ouch.
@chris @mattblaze Demetri Utkin, founder of the Wagner Group and noted Nazi, was also on the manifest and likely a target. By traveling together in Moscow they really gave Putin a two-for-one deal.
@wonk @mattblaze one less Nazi in the world is never a bad thing. Now if we could get rid of the Nazi in the Kremlin…. I sense eventually he'll find his way to the end of a gun, or open window, or doomed plane.
@mattblaze There is a relevant scene in the film Clerks, in which they discuss the fate of the contractors who were working on construction of the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi.
@mattblaze @icymi_law If *I* failed to pull off a coup in a country, I wouldn’t stick around *in that same country*.
@mattblaze NPR had Nina L. Khrushcheva — the great-granddaughter of Nikita Khrushchev — on All Things Considered just now. She noted that Prigozhin has many doubles and may not actually have been on the plane… So, another job to avoid: body double for one of Putin's enemies.
@mattblaze I expected another "fell out of a window" story. (Seems to happen a lot in Russia to people on the wrong side of Putin,) But guess there was a desire for something more dramatic in this case
@mattblaze
Have you heard the roofers-on-the-Death-Star exchange from Clerks?
@mattblaze tovarich, pilot job very safe. Plane fell out of hotel window. Should not have drunk so much vodka
