Context on tonight’s class: This is a prerequisite to a prerequisite to courses in my actual degree plan and it’s basically the Most Basic of Using A Computer For Business.

I should not be taking this course, but the College of Business would not budge on taking into account the fact that I’ve been in technical roles for most of my career, let alone programming since 5 or 6.

@alendaris Just a thought ... but many institutions have a PLA (prior learning assessment) policy that you can use to get credit for material you already know. Sometimes it's an exam, other times a portfolio.

Another sneaky trick is to use a CLEP exam to gain credit. Much cheaper than paying for a college-level class! I had an advisee who shaved a year off of his degree time using this ‘trick.’
