when elon let anyone pay for a blue checkmark, everyone said it'd be the death of twitter.

when elon said he was giving priority to blue checks in search and in replies, everyone said it'd be the death of twitter.

when elon limited the number of posts people could view in a day, everyone said it'd be the death of twitter.

when elon banned the word "cisgender", everyone said it'd be the death of twitter.

now, elon's getting rid of blocks, and everyone is saying it'll be the death of twitter. except past data suggests that actually it probably won't be the death of twitter because people just aren't fucking leaving for some reason, probably because they're too used to it and there's no good normie friendly competition.
people are pointing out that google and apple's app stores require that social media sites have a block feature, but honestly i think they'll just turn a blind eye. apple also bans one letter apps, yet they made an exception for twitter. remember, apple and google get a cut of the money users spend on the twitter apps, so they're going to want to keep it around

@mjdxp OFC they do.

After all, both stores also keep the Women Tracking and Travel Permit App of the Saudi Government online and Apple bowed before the "P.R." China and literally ratted out all it's Customers on the Mainland, Hongkong and Macao.

@kkarhan i wonder why apple would support massive human rights violations... oh right, because if they don't, then large numbers of people who live in oppressive countries won't be allowed to use apple products

@mjdxp That's not a valid excuse.

They chose to do that instead of leaving like Google did in regards to "P.R." China.

The cold hard truth is, #AllGAFAMsAreEvil & #AllGAFAMsAreSnitches ...

They never gave any shit about #HumanRights - period!

@kkarhan they care about money, nothing else. that's fucking capitalism, baby

@mjdxp EXACTLY!

If they weren't aboit maximizing profit, they weren't public corporations butworker-owned cooperatives...
