The doxing and threats against the Georgia grand jurors is arguably an even worse travesty than the sickening harassment of low-level election workers (though both are unacceptable and frightening).

The jurors weren't there by choice and had no idea what cases they would be evaluating. They were simply ordinary citizens, selected at random, who answered a summons to serve a routine, but critical, civic duty.

This now all-too-common harassment and intimidation of ordinary people caught in the crosshairs of fascist sore losers makes my blood boil. It threatens the underpinnings of democracy and our justice system, and it needs to be responded to strongly, clearly, and quickly.

We OWE these people. Not merely our thanks for answering the call to service, but meaningful protection until those who threaten them are caught and stopped.

And we must send a message to anyone tempted to emulate these thugs that this kind of harassment is investigated vigorously and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

@mattblaze
"until those who threaten them are caught and stopped."

Not just a common everyday nuisance charge.
Charge them with obstruction of justice.
Charge a conspiracy

@dbc3 @mattblaze isn’t it Assault, until actual physical harm then becomes Battery?
@mattblaze such cowardly fucks. Leave no stone unturned. Bastards.
@mattblaze Absolutely bonkers that Trump gets Secret Service protection and they don’t.

@mattblaze This is of course why they do it. Part of the game plan for fascists is to just exhaust normal people with their constant bullshit.

I wish people with the authority to do something about this -- all of whom have security and several degrees of detachment -- would wake the fuck up about it.

@mattblaze I would like to think that even in the face of such harassment I could remain completely impartial, but there is a part of me that might very well err on the side of being less charitable toward a defendant who I knew was depending on his cult to intimidate jurors.

This is unconscionable either way, but it may well backfire on Trump.

@mattblaze but the media tells us they’re “culture wars”, which of course means belligerents on both sides, and that the actual problem is everyone is guilty of partisanship, and this open christofascism so many elected officials on the right igave chosen, is a Biden and the Democrats problem, not a democracy problem, not even a media problem. They’re job, it seems, is to tell us republicans are winning. And to never question republicans on their assaults on democracy.
