Birx was one of hundreds who thought they could manage Trump, guide him, mitigate his damage. They were all wrong.
They merely bought a bit of time, for him to do ever greater damage. They destroyed their reputations, the institutions they led and the public trust.
Birx should have taken the mic after Trump to contradicted him and call him a danger, resigning on the spot if needed. She should have told the public everything.
