Among over 4.2 million people, Covid was associated with a significant increased risk of developing multiple types of autoimmune diseases compared with uninfected, and vaccination provided protection

@erictopol I developed MS out of nowhere within a year after having had Covid. It’s my strong belief it’s tied to the disease.

@devorars @erictopol

same here except with another AI disease and likely having had Covid at the start of 2020. It's just speculation though since we can't prove it after the fact. Out of curiosity though, did you have anything resembling EBV re-activation (or perhaps got your titers checked then?) after your infection? Because, as we now know, EBV is one of THE driving factors/triggers for MS (and likely other AI diseases). I have had a re-activation a few months prior to the emergence of my AI symptoms and firmly believe it was the trigger for it.

@GreySkies @erictopol I did in late 2019 in what I suspect was an early case of Covid. They tested me for EBV but it was negative, however, I had ten weeks of what felt like Mono or later long Covid. I recently read there is a relationship between Covid, EBV and MS. So I strongly suspect all this is related!

@erictopol

Vaccine protection is great, but it lasts only up to 6 months which leaves the entire summer unprotected 😕
