Realized that I’ve been using Heroku Postgres forever just because it was what I used when I first learned server-side development, and haven’t actually considered any alternative services in a while. I’m considering moving Plinky’s database to Supabase, I’ve used their full stack offering a bit but never thought about it as just a database. Does anyone have experience with it or reasons that I wouldn’t want to switch?

I’m doing the same, and considering the same. Heroku Postgres is not fast.

@tonyarnold @mergesort I work in Product for Heroku, would be curious to know if there is anything specific you’re looking for that our Postgres offering is lacking. I’d be happy to bring it up and see if is something we can add to our public roadmap (https://github.com/orgs/heroku/projects/130/)

@hawt @mergesort it's mainly performance. I'm paying $50USD per month for standard0, and things like pg:pull and pg:push regularly don't work (8 hours to time out on a 4Gb database).
@tonyarnold @mergesort thanks for sharing! I haven’t heard much about those kinds of issues personally but it’s not my specific area. If you want to open a support ticket and DM the case number I’ll see if we can’t dig into it for you.
